Sean Haycock 32lb 8oz 005b_small02We are really sorry that we have not been able to keep this page up to date,  but there have been loads of fish coming out of Wildmoor since this page was last updated in July.

Last week - Both Raimon Hartley and Sean Haycock (pictured) had “The Warrior” at 32lb 8oz - (See catch pix for Ray’s photo)

Gary Dennis had a storming session pulling out  23 fish over 4 days - with 3 different 19lb zip linears in a single night.  His fished ranged from mid to upper doubles with 6 19lb’ers and one topping 20lb.

30lb 8oz Mirror Raimon _Small

Raimon Hartley had a fantastic session at Wildmoor this week topping his PB with this 30lb 8oz Mirror caught on Cotswold Bait Creations 18mm UFO boilies fished in small bags of pellets over a bed of bait.  This is a new Wildmoor 30 pounder which our records show was stocked at 7lb 8oz in July 2004 which is an unbelievable weight gain.

The fishing at Wildmoor has been relatively good in what has been quite difficult conditions with most people catching.  Wildmoor regular, Martin Legg landed a couple of cracking fish, fishing a zig over the weekend.

35lb Common_smallWhat a week at Wildmoor!

Nick Griffin broke his PB three times in three hours, with a 19lb 8oz Mirror, followed swiftly afterwards with a 20lb Mirror and to top the day off he landed this stunning 35lb Common.  All of Nick's fish were caught on a Zig Rig.

Wildmoor member Martin Legg was made up when he landed a 28lb Mirror late on Friday evening.  He captured his fish on a Cotswold Bait Creations UFO boilie fished over a bed of pellet.

Stuart Jenks had a lovely 28lb Fully Scaled Mirror earlier on in the week and Steve Taylor and his two mates are currently bagging up fishing over large beds of bait and have taken fish between mid doubles to twenties.

Peter Bates & Alistair_small

Wildmoor has fished fantastically over the last week. Peter Bates and Alistair McGibbon from Derby had a fantastic week catching over 20 fish between them. Peter caught 13 fish - the biggest being 20lb - but he also managed 3 x 19lb8oz fish as well!!

Alistair had 11 fish - the smallest being 14lb and the biggest shown right was “Elma” at 31lb.

Four of Peter's fish were between 18lb and 21lb.

33lb 12oz Common Big John_Small

Wildmoor member John Butler had a brilliant short session catching this 33lb 9oz Common using Cotswold Bait Creations UFO boilie fished over pellets.

John had cleverly baited up an area the previous day and left it un-fished.

When he felt the fish were feeding confidently he presented his bait in a small bag of pellets and was rewarded with this sought after common.

2nd July

Wildmoor continues to fish well with both banks producing good bags over the last week.

Michael Mamo and Davey Barford had 26 fish between them over a 4 day session with Michael having slightly better results with 17 fish to his name, one of these being a 30lb mirror.  A variety of baits worked for the guys including M&M baits and Cotswold Bait Creations UFO pop-ups.

Graham Irving and Colin Barker completed their 2 day session at lunch time on Sunday 1st and ended up with 7 fish between them having blanked in the first 24 hours but they said the second day was great fun with plenty of action.  All fish were caught on tiger nut flavoured boilies over a corn / hemp base.

24th June

Wildmoor seems to be a lake of two halves as far as catches are concerned at the moment... Whilst fishing has been hard for the parties who have been on Roadshide Bank, the opposite bank has been fishing its head off.

Members Martin Legg and Alan "Nobby" Nobes had 4 fish in an overnight session - the best being a lovely 19lb "Simmo" caught by "Nobby".   All of their fish were caught on Cotswold Bait Creations UFO pop ups fished over pellets.

 25lb Raimon _small2

However, Wildmoor regular, Raimon Hartley, arrived on Saturday afternoon and has broken his own previous record with an incredible 30 fish in less than 24 hours.  His haul went from low doubles to mid twenties with his best fish being this lovely 25lb Mirror, which by the way has been identified as being stocked at 7lb in September 2004. This is an incredible, although not uncommon, growth rate for a fish in Wildmoor.  All Ray's fish fell to Cotswold Bait Creations 18mm UFO bottom baits fished with bags of small pellet over a large bed of pellets and boilies.

Ray believes that back leading makes a big difference to success at Wildmoor and also that being consistent with bait presentation and position is crucial.

19th June 2007

Wildmoor has been fishing really well over the last week.  Steve Edge had 18 fish to 28lb, mostly upper doubles, in a 36 hours session.  Steve's mate Andy Bell had about 6 fish over the same period.  Regular, Raimon Hartley, banked 9 fish in a couple of days fishing.  Ray has been testing Cotswold Bait Creations latest bait "Camopops" and had this 19lb 8oz previously unknown common (see attached pic) and a number of other fish using the freshwater snail flavour.

Bristol Angler, Wayne Pillinger, came armed with Camopops which he bought in Crazy Carp in Bristol, and caught all of his fish using this new camouflage pop up.

However, Well Done! to Wildmoor Member Martin Legg who had the best fish of the week, a fantastic 29lb 8oz Mirror caught on Cotswold Bait Creations UFO pop-ups.
